Meet Northwest Wyoming Candidates

The state primaries are Aug. 21 and the general election is Nov. 6.
Democrat and Republican candidates must file paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office by June 1 and independent candidates must file by Aug. 27. Park County Commissioners

Three of the five seats on the Park County Commission will be up for grabs November 6. The top three vote-getters in the Primary will advance to the Nov. 6 general election ballot. There are no Democratic candidates for the position. The term for Commissioners is 4 years.

Summary of County Commissioners’ Duties:
The County Commissioners are the governing board of the county.  They manage the business concerns of the county. The Commissioners approve budgets for the various county departments and set salaries and policies.

House District #50
The district includes Crandell, Sunlight, Clark, Heart Mountain, Ralston, and Wilwood

  • Mike Specht (D)
    ~ chairman of the Park County Democratic Party, and Clark businessman
  • David Northrup (R)
    ~ Northrup is a farmer and rancher who has served in the Legislature since 2013. You can find a summary Northrup’s voting record and the bills he sponsored at Open States.

House District #24
The district includes Cody and Mammoth. Three Republicans face off in the primary to run against the Democratic candidate.

Wyoming Governor

The 2018 Wyoming gubernatorial election will take place on November 6, 2018. Incumbent Republican Governor Matt Mead is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third consecutive term. The primary election will determine which candidate will earn the right to run as the party’s nominee in the general election.

Senator John Barrasso is up for reelection this year. Senate terms are six years

U.S. House Of Representatives:
